Lay Pastor Ministry
Faith In Action   >   Lay Pastor Ministry

Mission:
Our mission is to bring to life and to action the most basic of Christ’s teachings and commandments…to love one another and to “Tend His sheep”. “To serve the Lord and our Church as a fellowship of Lay Catholic Christians dedicated to personalizing the love and concern the Catholic Church feels for its members.”

Why One Should Try This Ministry:
This is basic to Christ’s teachings; welcoming others and sharing some time. This ministry is that simple. All of us are called to extend this love of Christ to all we come in contact with each day. Those interested in welcoming others or calling people who need to hear a voice – this ministry is for them.

Wanted:
Those who like to use the phone; who enjoy chatting with others; like inviting and informing others of events and resources. Those who like to greet others at mass; to extend a hand of welcome to our celebration. Those who enjoy sending words of encouragement and prayer to others who are homebound or ill.

Time Offering:
If calling on the phone it depends on you and the person you are calling as to when and how long your conversation is. Most ministers call five per month. If greeting at mass, you stand and greet at any mass you normally attend, then take your seat as mass begins.

What We Do:
We will assist and support our ordained and religious in their leadership of our Church. It is our goal to call the homebound, the newcomers and our parishioners. These phone calls are a way for the church family to stay in touch, to show that each member is loved and valued.
