The 54th Annual Layette Shower was held on December 6, 2009 at Queen of Apostles Parish in west San Jose, and about 20 DSJ parishes gathered together to bring thousands of baby clothes, blankets and other items that will be dispersed through the public health nurses to needy mothers and their newborns.
This past year, 304 complete layettes were given out along with 6 strollers, 2 cribs and 1 bassanette.
The program welcomes donations any time of year. Please make checks out to DSJ-Layette Fund and either give checks to Judy Bateman in the parish office or mail directly to the Chancery Office: DSJ Office of Pastoral Services, 1150 North 1st Street, San Jose, CA 95112-4965
To make donations of NEW clothing, sizes 0 to 6 months only, please call Lucille Bianco (Daytime only) at 730-4672 or Eileen McMahon at 978-5298. Volunteers are always welcome to assist in putting the layette packages together.
